We meet at the Twelve Adventures Base, just 100 metres from the main town square in Litochoro. After a quick equipment check and a briefing on the days ahead, we transfer to Prionia, where our hike begins.
From here, we follow a steep trail towards the Gomarostali ridge.
Along the way, we cross two alpine meadows with stunning views. Before reaching the Plateau, we encounter a more technical section where we use fixed steel cables and metal aids, similar to those found on a via ferrata, to navigate the exposed terrain safely.
Upon arrival at Refuge C (2,600 m), we check in, settle into the refuge and enjoy a well-deserved meal. We then take some time to rest, enjoy the alpine surroundings and go over the plan for our second day.
